The transformation of the Etablissement d’en Face Projects-office space was total when contemporary artist Ronny Heiremans had installed his presentation model. The piece is a room-size construction of lattice that has been smuggled into Dansaerststraat 161. Floor, walls and ceiling have remained transparent: visitors step into a network of lattice, an unfinished floor piece that incorporates desks, meeting table, chairs and book cupboard.
In the back Heiremans created a void; a video screen against the wall shows little yellow men walking across a boardwalk, apparently without aim. The title of the video reveals we look at some Impressions of “The Cave of the Wind Trip”: a walk on a wooden boardwalk at the foot of Niagara Falls, USA. Like the little yellow figures in the video, the visitor of this site-specific intervention explores the Etablissement d’en Face Projects-office space in an unusual, physical and witty way.
